Setting The Theme With Winter Picture Books

There's nothing I like better in the wintertime than a good book! At home I like to display my Christmas book collection in this wooden sled. When Christmas time is over the Christmas books are replaced by my favorite winter story books. At school, my classroom library is transformed into a Winter Wonderland.

One of my favorite winter picture books is Jack Frost by Kazuno Kohara. It tells the story of a boy who befriends Jack Frost one cold, lonely winter. The artwork in this book is absolutely beautiful and I can see this story inspiring some amazing Epsom salt paintings.

Our Interactive Math Worksheets have some great activities that would work well with the story of Jack Frost including measuring mittens and playing a math winter wonderland game.
