Saying Goodbye: The School Year Ends
Saying Goodbye to a classroom of students that you have taught, tended, loved, endured, nurtured, cared-for, adored, etc. for 180 days x 6+ hours is difficult (to say the least). You've been the school mom. You were invested in every aspect of a student's life and you love them dearly. But when the last bell rings, everything changes; and you know that change will be forever.
If you have done your job right, they will remember many great times they shared in your classroom. And you know with confidence that you have impacted their life's path in ways they don't even know. But also, if you have done your job right, their best days lie ahead and you can watch with confidence as they go forth and succeed.
But for today, there are tears in my eyes.
