Polar Bear Research Project
Did you know that the largest bear on earth is the Polar Bear? The polar bear can weigh up to 1,500 pounds and can get as large at 8 feet tall! In fact, the polar bear is the largest land carnivore currently in existence.
Although polar bears are born on the land, they spend most of their life on the sea ice of the arctic regions hunting for seals to eat for their next meal. Because polar bears depend on the sea ice for their way of life, they are considered a vulnerable species because the sea ice is slowly melting due to climate change, there is a possibility extinction.
